Equity markets will be closed on Wednesday in observance of Maharashtra Day. This closure extends to all segments, including equity, derivative, and SLB segments.
The Multi-Commodity Exchange will also be closed for the first half of the day but will resume operations for the evening session starting from 5:00 pm. However, trade settlements will not be conducted on Wednesday.

As it is a settlement holiday as well, any profits from commodity trades or positions on April 28, as well as credits from existing option positions on the same date, will not be reflected in commodity account balances on May 1.

In 2024, the markets will observe a total of 15 holidays, mirroring the count from the previous year, 2023. These holidays include Bakri Id (June 17), Muharram (July 17), Independence Day (August 15), Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Diwali (November 1), Gurunanak Jayanti (November 15), and Christmas (December 25).
A special muhurat trading session is scheduled for Diwali on November 01. Any changes to the holiday schedule will be communicated through separate circulars issued by the exchanges in advance.
